About The Trip

One of the best and challenging mountain biking tour; this route which is already famous for Jeep Safaris has breathtaking and constantly changing terrain which is similar to Tibet. Mountain biking on the roof of the world offers exciting and mega stiff un-ending descends with twist and turns that thrills the souls. Clear, pristine and rarified air gives the energy to carry-on forever from one pass to the other crossing ranges of mountain to find nothing.no trace of human habitations for days Just you and your bike and the mighty mountains.

All the camping gears and your stuff will be carried in the backup vehicle followed by our professional supporting team.. Nights are spent in tents under the sky so clear and the stars so near that you feel like to touch them at once. Biking begins in the morning with a luxurious breakfast and filling up the water bottles. Lunch are usually packed and dinner are buffet with ample of choices.

It needs to cross series of high passes before we end in Leh of which  Taglang la (5325 M), Lachung La (5065M), Baralacha la (4892 M), Rohtang la (4060 M) are the most vitals. In Ladakh we ride to the world highest motorable road; The Khardungla pass (5280 M)

 



Day By Day Itinerary

Day 01: Meeting and assistance on arrival at International Airport.  Transfer to hotel of your choice in Delhi. Overnight at the hotel.
 
Day 02: Transfer the Domestic airport to fly to Kullu Meeting and assistance on arrival at Kullu airport and transfer to Manali (2050 M/ 45 Kms). Day at leisure. Overnight hotel at Manali.
 
Day 03: Acclimatize: Another day to acclimatize and assemble the bikes. Overnight hotel at Manali.

Day 04: Acclimatize / Introductory tour : Test bike by visiting some of the famous sites of Manali area like, the Manu temple, Hadimba temple and the Institute of Mountaineering etc. Overnight hotel at Manali.
 
Day 05: Manali-Rohtang pass-Base (64km) : The fist tough day of a difficult uphill biking of 55 kms takes us to the  pass Rohtang la (4060 M) . An speedy descend to the base where we camp for the night. Overnight in tents at the base.
 
Day 06: Rohtang La pass base to Jispa. ( 3050m ); ( 76km ) : Today we bike to Jispa village just 25 Kms short of last village Keylong. Overnight hotel / camp at Jispa. 

Day 07: Jispa-Baralacha La-Sarchu ( 72km ) : Another challenging uphill biking to the Baralacha la pass. ( 4892M ). A stop to have magnificent  view of Chandrabhaga range.  A stiff descend leads us to Sarchu the last post of Himachal Pradesh. Overnight at camp at Sarchu.
 
Day 08: Sarchu-Lachung La (5065 M)-Pang: ( 70km ) : One of the most exiting day of mountain biking we face two passes today the 5065m Lachlunga La and 4900m Nakli La. Once we reach Lachung la which give breath taking views we start steady climb from Brandy Nullha and Over the Whiskey bride. A easy descend takes us to Pang and say good buye to Himachal Pradesh state as the Jammu and Kashmir stats welcomes you through funny road sings Overnight camp at Sarchu.
 
Day 09: Pang- Tanglang-la ( 5360m ) - Rumtse ( 90km ) :  Today is the most challenging day as  we face the second highest motorable  pass of the world; the Taglang La (5360 M). A easy start from Pang ( 4400m ).  to more plane and gradually biking uphill from the base. From the top a stiff and zig zang descend leads us to the village of Rumtse in Ladakh.  Overnight camp at the village.
 
Day 10: Rumtse -  Karu ( 33km ) : A joy ride from Rumtse to Karu. Teams wait us at Karu with hot meals Overnight camp at Karu. 

Day 11: Karu-Upshi-Tagthog : ( 85km ) : A longer ride but on better roads amids villages on both sides we sightsee Tagthok by going off the road on the Leh-Changthang road. Overnight camp at Takthok.
 
Day 12: Tagthok-Hemis-Leh: (70 Kms) : Another pleasant ride except the way to Hemis and the climbing to the monstery enroute to Leh. Overnight hotel at Leh.
 
Day 13: Leh - Khardung-la - Leh ( 5380m ) ; ( 80km ) : Ride up hill till Khardung-la pass ( 5380 m ) the highest motorable road in the world. Today is the final test of your acclimatization as you reach at the top of the pass you may feel the lack of oxygen and change of breathing rhythm. About 3 hrs of challenging and exciting cycling rewords you with magnificent view of whole Leh town and the gorges of Indus river and snowcapped peaks of Stok Kangri ranges. Ride back downhill is also exiting with many twist and turns. We take packed lunches from the hotel which we enjoy at the top of the pass. Dinner and overnight hotel at Leh.
 
Day 14: Lehi-Delhi :  Morning transfer to the Leh airport to fly  Delhi.. The One hour 15 minutes flight to Leh ( 3505M ) gives magnificent view of the Zanskar and Himalayan ranges of mountain. One can even see the peaks of Nun-Kun mountain (7000M) emerging from the blanket of clouds. On arrival met by representative and transfer to hotel. Overnight hotel at Delhi.
 
Day 15: Delhi - Home: Transfer to International airport to fly home.
