About The Trek

As one treks along the route surrounded by the majestic Himalayas, every inch becomes a fresh song of nature and at every curve the eyes embrace a new landscape more beautiful than before. Reaching the upper levels, the trees fall off, the pines cease and the road enters an enchanted garden of fern, wild flowers ands rhododendron.

The glacier over 3.2 kilometers in length and 1.5 km. broad, backed by mighty mountains, loom-up on the traveler with a gorgon gaze, leaving an indelible impression of grandeur. Situated on the Nanda Devi and Nanda Kote peaks, it extends from 3657 M to above sea level, on an open, undulating piece of ground. To the east is a lofty moraine constituted of gravel, mud and blocks of snow embedded in ice. It owed its existence to vast quantities above, which melted by the noon day sun, is frozen at night.

A ground past, over the glacier, at a height of 5393 meters leads to the Trail Pass. A trip to the Pindari Glacier is well within the capacity of any trekker, amply rewarded by magnificence of the majestic grandeur of the Himalayas, the beauty of mountain flora and fauna, the snowy ranges, gurgling hill torrents and roaring water-falls and the rays of the morning sun splitting into manifold spectral hues, making visible every drop of dew on every blade of grass while in the distance, over the mountains, come the plaintive notes of a shepherds flute. The incredible wealth of colour and beauty never ceases to amaze, as with every curve of a meandering rivulet, and every corner rounded is present a new spectacle.

Day By Day Itinerary

Day 01: Meeting and assistance on arrival at International Airport. Transfer to your choice of Hotel in New Delhi. 

 Day 02: Delhi-Ramnagar: Transfer to the New Delhi railway station to board Ranikhet Express to Ramnagar. On arrival met by representative and transfer to hotel.

Day 03: Ramnagar - Ranikhet Kausani : Morning after an early breakfast drive to reach Kausani via Ranikhet by covering approx 110 kms in 04 to 05 hrs. Arrive in the afternoon and check into Suman Royal Resorts for overnight stay and prepare for the trek next day.

Day 04: Kausani Song Loharkhet: ( Drive 80 kms, trek 3 kms ) : Morning after early breakfast drive ( 80 kms ) to reach Song, which is the starting point for trek. Start trek and reach Loharkhet which is a small picturesque village by covering approx 3 kms in 02 to 03 hrs. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 05: Loharkhet Khati : Trek 17 kms, 7 8 hrs : Morning after breakfast start trekking (17 km) to reach Khati by crossing Dhakuri Pass 2800 m. Trek leads through very steep and dense forest. Dhakuri has a beautiful Meadow. Overnight stay in tents in khati.

Day 06: Khati Phurkiya : Trek 16 kms, 6 7 hrs : Morning after breakfast start trekking (16 km) to reach Phurkiya via Dwali. As Khati is also the last village on this trek we do not see any habitat on this day. Arrive Phurkiya which is also the base of the Glacier and overnight stay in tents.

Day 07: Phurkia - Pindari Glacier Phurkia : Trek 14 kms, 4 5 hrs : Morning after breakfast start trekking ( 7 kms one way ) to reach Pindari Glacier which is also called as Zero Point. After lunch trek down to reach Phurkia. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 08:  Phurkia Khati : Morning after breakfast start trekking (16 km) to reach Khati. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 09:  Khati - Dhakuri Song - Bageshwar : Trek 21 kms, Drive 40 kms : Morning after breakfast start trekking (20 km) to reach Song. On arrival drive back to Bageshwar.

Day 10:  Bageshwar Ramnagar : Drive 150 kms : Morning after breakfast drive (140 km) to Ramnagar. Overnight hotel at Ramnagar.

Day 11:  Ramnagar-Delhi: Transfer to railway station to board the train to New Delhi. On arrival in New Delhi met by representative and transfer to hotel.

Day 12:  Delhi Home: Transfer to International airport to fly home.
