About The Trek

In Sikkim, the Goecha La trek takes the trekker up-close for a spectacular view of the mighty Kanchenjunga amidst a majestic panorama of the other lesser Himalayan giants within its range of mountains. This is an extension of the Dzongri trek - and trekking beyond the meadows Dzongri is raw adventure at its best where the visitor is taken into the realm of towering mountain peaks directly above and camp is set amidst the view of rumbling avalanches and high mountain glacier.

Day By Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Delhi IGI Airport.  Transfer to Domestic Airport.  Fly Delhi Baghdogra. Arrive Baghdogra airport. Proceed to Gangtok by surface (112 Kms / 05-06 Hrs). Overnight hotel in Gangtok. 

Day 02: Day-02: Drive Gangtok  to Yaksum (112 Kms / 5-6 hrs) (6200 ft) Overnight at the hotel in Yaksum.

Day 03: Today we trek to Psoka (10500 ft) through Kanchenjunga National Park. We cover 10 miles in about 6-7 hours. Overnight at the trekker's hut in Psoka.
 
Day 04: We trek to Dzongri (13400 ft) covering a distance of 7.5 miles in about 4-5 hours. Overnight in tents/trekker's hut in Dzongri.

Day 05: Today we trek to Thansing covering a distance of 3.8 miles in about 4 hours. Overnight at the trekker's hut/tent in Thansing.

Day 06: Today we trek to Samiti Lake (15400 ft) covering a distance of 2.5 miles in about 4 hours. Overnight in tents/trekker's hut in Samiti Lake.
 
Day 07: Trek to Goechala (16800 ft) and back to Thansing covering in all a distance of 8.7 miles in about 8 hours. Overnight in tents/trekker's hut in Thansing.
 
Day 08: Today we trek back to Psoka via Phedang covering 8.7 miles in about 6-7 hours. Overnight in tents/trekker's hut in Psoka.

Day 09: Trek to Yaksum covering 10 miles in about 7 hours. Overnight at the hotel in Yaksum.
 
Day 10: Drive from Yuksam to Gangtok. Overnight hotel in Gangtok.

Day 11: Early morning drive from Gangtok to Baghdogra, transfer to airport. Fly Baghdogra-Delhi. Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel. Overnight hotel in Delhi.

Day 12: Delhi Home: Transfer to International airport to fly home.
