Introduction
From teahouse trekking to expedition grade trek, Nepal is well known for its variety of trek that it offers. The trekking terrain of Nepal mainly lies in two distinctive region: the tropical coniferous forest and the Himalayan mountain region. A variety of flora and fauna and wild life combined with magnificent Himalayan peaks Nepal has it all for the adventure die-hards. It boasts of owing the eight highest Mountains amongst ten highest of the world. Nepal is also known as “the country of Mount Everest” and the Everest trek is the dream trek of every trekker on the planet. The prime essence of these treks are the regions that it traverses through; high pasture lands, remote villages, dense forest of sub-tropical, rugged mountain trails, snowy glaciers and lofty mountains in subzero temperature, you and your Sherpa team moving in an unhurried pace observing the stark beauty and serenity of the mighty Himalayan mountains.
Routes in the beginning and in the outer regions are well defined which is even used by locals village to village or perhaps by Shepard but the major part are completely unmarked. In the sub-tropical region trekkers uses the Teahouses as the night-over shelter and thus these treks are also known as Teahouse trek. Wild camping are mostly used in trekking in the more mountainous regions and from a moderate to strenuous expedition grade of trek can be done.
Acclimatization is a very important factor that trekkers must keep in mind before heading off to any higher region. Thus visiting some areas by doing sightseeing will be most ideal to get acclimatized. All the trek itineraries are designed keeping the acclimatization phase in mind.
During most of the camping treks you hardly see any signs of human habitation for days except for sometimes you may see the Yaks and the Yak herders. The Everest region is rugged terrain and deep gores raising from 5900 M to 8848 M the top of the world!
Several high passes has to be crossed in these treks some being stiff enough to compared as mountaineering. Thus ropes and some climbing equipment is carried during such treks.
From the foot of the Himalayan peaks gigantic glaciers trails and forms torques blue land locked high altitude lakes.
