About The Trek
This trip is an adventurous trek equally it is a full fledged mobile jeep safari which unveils the deeper and inner region of the tribal valley and this remote region of Himachal over the old India Tibet road. The whole camping team follows with backup and carriage vehicle from point to point. Drive and trek are often mixed in this adventure trip to make it a complete trek and tour of the Spiti Valley. The trek itself is quite challenging with many high passes and an average trek of a demanding 6 hrs a day and drives involving 5-8 hrs in a day. Though the trek days are mare 08 but this trip is graded as strenuous due to the jeep safari and the tough terrain.

Day By Day Itinerary
Day 01: Delhi: Depart home for New Delhi. Met by representative and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Delhi - Shimla. Board morning train `Himalayan Queen' at 0600 hrs for Kalka. Change to toy train for Shimla. Over night at Shimla.
Day 03: Drive Shimla - Sarahan Via Rampur (7-8hrs). Visit Bhi-makali Temple. Camp / Tourist Bungalow.
Day 04: Drive from Sarahan to Sangla (120 km - 8 hrs) vallay (2654 M) Departure for Sangla and the area of Kinnaur. The valley of SANGLA is dominated by Kinnaur Kailash (6194m), and is famous for the beauty of its forests of cedars. Overnight at camp.
Day 05: Trek from Sangla camp to Chitkul (3534 M) and back to camp (05 Hrs). We start walking from the camp at around 9 am in the morning and walking through the Cedar trees and crossing small mountain streams on a dirt road up to the village Chitkul , Chitkul is the last village of Kinnaur valley on this side before the collar marking the border of Tibet. Visit the village monastery. Walk back to the camp. Overnight at camp.
Day 06: Drive from Sangla to Nako( 138 Kms / 06 Hrs.) Few Kms driving down the valley from Sangla we reach the valley of Sutlej at Krcham. We drive it until the confluence of Sutlej with the Spiti river. After driving through the gorge of river Spiti mostly, we arrive in the afternoon at the very beautiful village of Nako. Overnight at camp.
Day 07: Drive from Nako to Guling. On the way we visit Mane after having crossed the Spiti river by a traditional cable. Then we continue driving to Tabo and visit the monastery (with very beautiful frescos) and we carry on our road to Guling our camping site for tonight. Overnight at camp.
Day 08: Trek -Start walking from Guling to Thango (14 Kms 5-6 Hrs.). We trek from the right side of the valley crossing the river over a old small bridge and end at the oasis of Thangu where people shift during the summer time with cattles for grazing. Overnight camp at Thangu river side.
Day 09: Trek Thangu to Thindim (12 Kms 5-6 Hrs.). We continue from the right side of the valley until it ends in to opening of valley, one at the right leads to the Glacier on Pin valley and if crossed we reach at the Pin-Parvati trek rout. The other valley takes to the Peak. We camp at summer pasture ground of Thingdim.
Day 10: Trek Thindim to Thangu (12 Kms / 5-6 Hrs.). Return trek to Thangu, this time we take the left side of the valley and camp at Thangu.
Day 11: Trek Thangu to Sangnam ( 11 Kms. 5-6 Hrs.) Trek through the valley of Thangu and reach the biggest village of Pin valley with aprox. 125 houses. Camp at the river side.
Day 12: Drive from Sangnam to Lalung( 14 Kms) Transfer in the jeep to Dhankar visit monastery ( 35 Kms) , after visiting the Monastery the mules will join you and start walking towards Lalung monastery at the village of Lalung. ( 4 to 5 hrs walk.) Overnight at camp.
Day 13: Trek Lalung to Jamul ( 6-7 Hrs.) Descent in the superb throats of the valley Lingti river. We cross the river and go up the other pouring to reach the village of Jamul ( 4 to 5 hrs.walk) Overnight at camp.
Day 14: Trek Jamul to Komic. Today’s walk goes in the medium of very beautiful landscapes, passage of 3 collars between 4400m and 4900m. (5to 6hrs. walk). Overnight at camp.
Day 15: Trek Komic to Kaza (3810m) After starting our walk today for first phase we arrive at Langza with a small monastery at the top end of the village, while passing the perched village of Hikkim. End of the trek in after midday. We find the vehicles for a short transfer to Kaza at Hikkim.(4 to 5hrs walk and one hrs Drive.) Overnight at camp.
Day 16: Drive from Kaza to Kibber and Back. 3 to 4 hrs drive. Start driving by jeeps to the village of Ki enroute. The road goes until Kibber, one of the highest villages inhabited in the world, and visits monastery of Ki on the way back. We drive back to the camp at Kaza. Overnight at camp.
Day 17: Drive from Kaza to Chatru (3097m).over Kunzum La pass( 4550m.) Passage of Kunzum La (4550m), superb panoramic sight on the snow-covered tops. We leave the valley of Spiti and enter into the valley of Lahaul soon after the Kunzum pass. Now we drive on the right bank of the river Chandra most of the time until we reach the camp at Chattru. Chattru is a beautiful small mountain hamlet with huge rocky mountains all around and gives one a feeling of Swiss Alps.( 7hrs drive) Overnight at camp.
Day 18: Drive Chattru - Manali. After breakfast, we begin the climb to the Rohtang pass and descend into the green Kullu valley till Manali town. Arrive by lunchtime at our hotel. Explore Manali town, its mall and the Hadimba temple. Overnight hotel at Manali.
Day 19: Drive Manali - Nalagarh. Today, we drive down the valley of the Bias river past towns like Kullu, Mandi, Bilaspur to Nalagarh. Check into Hotel Nalagarh Fort
Day 20: Drive Nalagarh Delhi: Day at leisure. Evening transfer to Kalka Railway station to board the Shatabdi express train to Delhi. On arrival met by representative at the railway station and transfer to Hotel. Overnight hotel at Delhi.
Day 21: Transfer to Airport, to connect flight to Delhi. Meeting and assistance on arrival at Delhi Airport and transfer to Hotel in Delhi. Overnight hotel in Delhi.
Day 22: Delhi Home: Transfer to International airport to fly home.
