About The Trek
On of the most famous trek where altitude as low as 1985 (Manali) we gradually gain about 3200 M in 7-8 days of trek with an average walk of 5-6 Hrs a day. At Pin Parvati Pass(5130 mtrs) with breathtaking views of the entire Kullu and Spiti valley. Crossing green meadows, small streams and high altitude lake this trek ends in a complete opposite terrain with barren mountains and rugged mountains with tiny hamlets with ancient monasteries cleverly hidden on hill tops. The trip ends with an perfect adventure Jeep Safari over the old India Tibet road from the Tribal valley to Shimla. |

Day By Day Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival Delhi: Meeting and assistance at Delhi airport on arrival and transfer to the Hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Delhi - Manali ( 1985 m ) After an early breakfast drive to domestic airport for flight for Kullu. On arrival at Kullu, meeting & assistance and transfer to hotel in Manali.
Day 03: Manali - Manikaran - Pulga ( 2100 mtrs) After an early breakfast commence 3 hrs drive to Manikaran, famous for its Sikh Temple and Hot water springs. Arrival at Manikaran is marked by the sight of lovely Pine forests. On arrival formal introduction with the Trek staff and porters followed by a quick visit of the Sikh temple and the colorful market of Manikaran. Start the trek from Manikaran, Walk through the forest road for 15kms/5 hr. for the village of Pulga. It is an easy gentle walk through dense forest cover. Overnight at Camp.
Day 04: Pulga Khirganga (2760 Mts.): Trek 05-06 hrs 15 kms After breakfast commence trek , Gradual ascent through the village fields and forest. Khirganga is a holy place with hot water springs. Walking time 4-5 hrs. On arrival camp is set. Evening to explore this beautiful place. Meals & overnight at camp.
Day 05: Khirganga Bhoj Dundi(3285 Mts.): Trek 05 - 06 hrs/18 kms After breakfast commence trek, an almost level walking through lush green forest of pine and deodars. Meals and overnight in camp.
Day 06: Bhoj Dundi - Ode Thach (3250 Mts): 05 - 06 hrs/ 16 kms After breakfast begin a scenic walk through forest and alpine meadows. Cross the River Parvati and enter the Dibibokri Nallah. Meals and overnight at camp.
Day 07: Ode Thach - Bakar Thach (3775m) : 04 hrs/12 kms A huge Rock on the river to cross to the other side.Meals and overnight at camp.
Day 08: Bakar Thach Mantalai Lake (4374 Mts.): 06 hrs/15 kms This lake is the source of River Parvati. Excellent views of the Parvati Massif. Meals and overnight at camp.
Day 09: Mantalai Lake High Camp (4750 mtrs.):05-06 hrs/12 kms Cross many small lakes and streams and camp below the pass. Meals and overnight at camp.
Day 10: High Camp - Pin Parvati Pass(5130 mtrs)-High Camp (4367 mtrs) Cross the Pin Parvati pass, beautiful views of KULLU and Spiti. Camp near the river. Meals and overnight at camp.
Day 11: High Camp - Wichng Thach - Chinpatta Maidan(3900 mtrs) :04 hrs/14 kms Gradual descent along the Chinpatta Maidan on the left bank of Pin River. Meals and overnight at camp.
Day 12: Wichng Thach - Mud ( 3500 Mts.) :04 hrs/15kms Trek down the Pin valley to the first village of Spiti,the land of the Gompas-Monasteries, which are repositories of Buddhist faith and art treasure. One can see a distinct change of landscape in Pin Valley - stark terrain... sparkling rivers...weathered gorges and high passes. The valley itself is only about a mile wide with narrow strips of cultivable land. Meals and overnight at camp.
Day 13: Mud - Gulling (2900 mtrs) :05 hrs/16 kms It is a big village at the confluence of Pin and Parahio Rivers. After reaching camp walk around the local village. Meals and overnight at camp... End of trek.
Day 14: Gulling - Kungri Monastery - Lhalung - Schichling Drive through the villages of Gulling and Chhidang. Visit the Kungri monastery which provides an unmistakable evidence of the impact of the tantric cultsas practiced in Pin valley. The valley is also the abode of Snow Leopard and the Siberian Ibex. Further down the road cross the Spiti river at Attargo and enter the Spiti Valley. Also visit Lalung Gompa in the Lingti Valley, the largest and longest side valley of Spiti. The lalung village houses a small but somewhat unique monastery which is distinct for it's heavenly carved wooden panelling as for it's seclusion. This valley is a living geological museum with fossils dating back to 250 million years. Camp at Schichling. Meals and overnight at camp.
Day 15: Schichling - Kaza - Ki - Kibber( 4230m) Drive after breakfast to Kaza...the district headquarters of Spiti.It is a growing village inhabited by local people. The village is an important road head with an interesting market situated at the foot of steep ridges, on the left bank of the river Spiti.Ki Monastery is visible right from the road. It is a really fantastic view. The monastery is the oldest and the biggest of Spiti dominating Ki village. There are about 300 monks who receive their religious training in this monastery, which also houses rare paintings and beautiful scriptures og Buddha and other Gods and Goddesses. Carry on further to Kibber(4205 mtrs) , the highest inhabited village in the world, where in spite of the vagaries of nature, temperature drops below -35 degrees. There is also a very interesting monastery. Meals and overnight at camp.
Day 16: Kaza - Dhankar - Tabo - Nako :( 3500m) visit the Dhankar Gompa which serves the eastern part of central Spiti. Dhankar is a big village and erstwhile capital of the Spiti king On top of the hill, there is a fort which used to be the prison in the older times. The monastery has about 100 lamas and is in possession of Buddhist scriptures in Bhoti language. Principal figure in the monastery is a status of Vairochamma (Dhayan Buddha) consisting of 4 complete figures seated back to back. It has relics in the shape of paintings and sculptures. Drive on to Tabo, an ancient village ( 3050 Mts) above sea level situated on the left bank of river Spiti. Flanked on either side by lofty hills, brown and sunburn, it is the seat of one of the most famous monasteries regarded by many as only next to Tholong Gompa in Tibet. The monastery houses large number of scriptures and pieces of art, wall paintings and stucco. It is known as the Ajanta of Himalayas. Drive onto the village of Nako, which is located at an altitude of 2930 mtrs. On a bifurcation road to the right 1 km after Yangthang. It is typical local Buddhist village with a small holy lake. It also houses a monastery. Meals and overnight at camp.
Day 17: Nako - Sangla (2680) The road passes through some of the most spectacular scenery of the Himalayas with passage made by cutting mountains. Many a times the overhanging rocks have to be carefully negotiated. Here we enter the Sangla valley which is one of the prettiest is the Himalayas. Sangla is an important village situated on the right bank of the Baspa river. The Kinner Kailash peak dominates the scenery. The views are breathtaking and memorable. Visit the old Nag temple at the Sangla village. A little above Sangla is the village of Kamru with an interesting fort. This fort is the place many kings of Kinnaur were crowned. The roofs of the houses of this valley are truly remarkable and blend in with the local architecture. Evening explore this beautiful little village. Meals and overnight camp.
Day 18: Sangla - Sarahan (1920M) Morning drive to Sarahan. Not many places in Himachal Pradesh present such a gorgeous spectacles of snow-covered Himalayan ranges, a picture of unspoiled pastoral loveliness at the unpretentious village of Sarahan. It also commands a view of Srikhand Mahadev peak - the abode of Lord Shiva. A mixture of Hindu and Buddhist architecture, the ancient wooden temple of Bhimakali with its ethereal beauty captivates the visitor. Camp / Tourist lodge
Day 19: Sarahan - Shimla (2200) Early morning drive to Shimla for 8 hrs (183km) enroute visiting Rampur and Narkanda(2700m). Afternoon at leisure to explore Shimla. meals and overnight at Hotel
Day 20: Shimla - Chandigarh -Delhi After breakfast drive to Chandigarh ,3 hrs in time to catch train for Delhi .On arrival transfer to Hotel.
Day 21: Transfer to Airport, to connect flight to Delhi. Meeting and assistance on arrival at Delhi Airport and transfer to Hotel in Delhi. Overnight hotel in Delhi.
Day 22: Delhi Home: Transfer to International airport to fly home.
