About The Trek

Most frequented by Indian adventure lovers as well as foreigners; the trek is named after the high altitude lake which it traverses: Chandratal. Comparatively most of the days are on lower altitude and highest altitude touched is 4880 M at base camp of Mt. Deo Tibba. The trek passes through alpine plateau, Green Meadows, waterfalls, valleys with wild flowers, glaciers and wild rivers. Some stiff climbing are involved in many places; making it a challenging and interesting trek. Ideal for novice as well as experienced trekkers.

Day By Day Itinerary

Day 01: Delhi: Depart home for New Delhi. Met by representative and transfer to hotel.
 
Day 02: Delhi-Manali: (562 kms) Drive from Delhi to Manali. On arrival check in Hotel Holiday Inn Manali. Overnight hotel at Manali.
 
Day 03: Manali-Acclimatization Day: Arrive Manali and transfer to the Solang Nalla camp / Institute Hostel at Manali. After lunch, trek to Patalsu for an acclimatization walk. Evening at leisure and overnight hotel.
 
Day 04: Transfer to Jagatsukh & Trek to Khunol. (2250 mt): After breakfast, transfer to Jagatsukh (18 km) by Local bus and trek upto Khunol (04 hrs) Jagatsukh Nala.
 
Day 05: Trek from Khunol to Chikka (05 hrs). Overnight at camp.
 
Day 06: Chikka To Seri (3990 mt):  Gradual climb for 5 hours/ 6km and reach to the Camp site at Seri, a large alpine plateau famous for its wild flowers and according to a legend, the Pandava brothers (of Mahabharata Fame) used to cultivate rice here. Overnight in tents. 

Day 07: Trek to Base Camp (4880 mt): A 3 hours steep climb along Tanta water fall up to top of Tanta rock, then gradual climb up for another 3 hours for Chota Chandratal, base camp of Mt. Deo Tibba and Manali peaks. The camp site gives an extensive panorama all round of the snow covered Deo tibba (6001 mt) and Norbu's peak (5226 mt) range. Overnight in tents at Chota Chandra Tal.
 
Day 08: Chandra tal and Deo Tibba Glacier: Experience on Deo Tibba Glacier and after lunch Climb up to Main Chandra Tal . Overnight in tents.
 
Day 09: Trek to Chikka : Trek down to Chikka. Overnight in tents.
 
Day 10: Trek back Chikka to Khunol. Overnight in tents.
 
Day 11: Trek to Jagatsukh: Trek down to Jagatsukh via  Solan Nalla . Drive to Manali. Overnight hotel at Manali.
 
Day 12: Drive Manali - Nalagarh. Today, we drive down the valley of the Bias river past towns like Kullu, Mandi, Bilaspur to Nalagarh. Check into Hotel Nalagarh Fort
 
Day 13: Drive Nalagarh Delhi: Day at leisure. Evening transfer to Kalka Railway station to board the Shatabdi express train to Delhi. On arrival met by representative at the railway station and transfer to Hotel. Overnight hotel at Delhi.
 
Day 14: Transfer to Airport, to connect flight to Delhi.  Meeting and assistance on arrival at Delhi Airport and transfer to Hotel in Delhi. Overnight hotel in Delhi.

Day 15: Delhi Home: Transfer to International airport to fly home.
