About The Trek

An easy and gentle trek of three days walking combined with village leisure walk and sightseeing of monasteries and historic sites. The tour includes drives that gives magnificent sightseeing / views of villages and motorable high passes and the snow capped Himalayans ranges. This tour gives more chance of interaction with the locals and also an photographic tour and trek all together.

 



Day By Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Delhi IGI Airport. On arrival, met by representative and transferred to hotel. Overnight hotel at Delhi.. 

Day 02: Delhi Sightseeing-Delhi-Paro. Full day sightseeing of New and old Delhi historical monuments also including the parliament house, India Gate and the National Museum. Evening transfer to International airport. Fly Delhi Paro. Arrive at Paro Airport, met by our Bhutan representative and transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight hotel at Paro.

Day 03: Paro-Thimphu: Morning after breakfast at the hotel visit Drugyel Dzong which is a short drive of 18 kilometers from Paro. You can have a magnificent view Mount Chhomolhari (24,000 ft). Later on visit the Ta Dzong, which houses the National Museum and see also a typical Bhutanese wooden bridge. Post lunch drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Dinner and overnight hotel at Thimphu.

Day 04: Thimphu-Gangtey. Morning after breakfast at the hotel drive to Gangtey Gompa over the Dochula Pass (10,000ft / 3080m). From the pass one can have the great view of the entire Himalayan ranges or more then 200 miles Enroute sightseeing in the valley of Wangdiphodrang, it includes: visit to Wangdiphodrang Dzong (from outside) built in 1638. Legend relates that as the people were searching for the site of the Dzong; four ravens were seen flying away in four directions. This was considered auspicious sign, representing the spread of religion to the four points of the compass. The Dzong is situated at the confluence of Mo Chu and Tang Chu rivers .

Day 05: Gangtey. Day at leisure. Evening walk aournd the village. Overnight hotel / Guest House ast Gangtey.

Day 06: Trek. The trek begins and the trail passes through meadows and fields and then ascends over the Tselela Pass and then through mixed forests of juniper, bamboo, magnolia and rhododendrons. The people who live in this are known as the Bjopkha (nomadic people) and they speak a different dialect from Dzongkha - the official language. Overnight in camp. 

Day 07: Trek. A gentle climb leads to Shobjula (Alt.11,155 ft / 3,400 m) and then descends to a wide valley, which is another home for the Black Necked Cranes.

Day 08: Trek. A short climb to Tashila Pass (Alt. 9,200 ft / 2804 m). After crossing the pass the path is very steep downhill and the vegetation is dry. You will reach Chunzom where the transport will be waiting for you on the motor road. Drive on to Thimphu.

Day 09: Visits. Visit the National Library, which holds a vast collection of ancient Buddhist manuscripts. Visit also the School of Thangka Painting and the Institute of Traditional Medicine, where centuries old healing arts are still practiced. Then visit the Memorial Chorten built in memory of the late King, Jigme Dorji Wang chuck. Visit Thimphu town. 

Day 10: Paro-Delhi-Home. Early morning drive to Paro Airport, Fly Paro-Delhi. Evening transfer to International airport fly Delhi-Home.
