Gulmarg (Meadow of flowers) . Kashmir is blessed by God for its beautiful mountains, streams, green pousters meadow, its people and culture worth visiting.
Gulmarg is situated at the altitude of 2732 mtrs and is famous for its beauty Gul means flowers and Marg means Meadow. Gulmarg is famous for Golf and Skiing, is highest golf course and highest cable car in the world. There is lot u can do in skiing and snowboarding Gulmarg Gondola goes upto the highest of 3980 Mtrs and ski down all the way to Gulmarg, Babarishi and a beautiful run to a village of Drang. Drang is the longest run one can do altitude of 2165 Mtrs which means u make 1755 vertical meters of skiing in half day and it is not only the skiing u do u experience the true culture while passing through the beautiful villages and experience the people and culture.
Gulmarg is actually a valley where is no village but u can ski all the neighboring villages like Bearish, Chianti Petri, Drang, Machine and Tankard. U can experience the skiing with wild life the big Alpine trees and snow covered mountains and sunshine and sunrise peaks which have never been skied.

The main mountain is mount Affarvath which is 4120 Mtrs high and one can go for back country skiing from the top of Affarvath and can ski down from 5000 Mtr.
There are so many tree skiing runs available in Gulmarg ski resort, such as Monkey Hill run, Natoopa run, Babarishi run or Gulmarg to Tangmarg run.
Gulmarg's Poma designed gondola features 36 six-seater cabins to lift snowriders 1330 vertical meters to the top station at 3980 meters above sea level. From the top station an optional but easy 20 minute walk will take you to Mt Apharwat's 4120 meter peak.
From the peak it is possible to glide for over a couple of kilometers in either direction along Apharwat's high Northwest and Southeast shoulders, before descending the mountain's multiple ridges, faces and bowls. From the Northwest shoulder this includes magnificent and consistent advanced slopes (suitable for fit intermediate skiers and boarders) to distant parts of the Gulmarg meadow.
