About The Tour

This intensive Jeep Safari touches most of the Safari regions that Sikkim has to offer. Some days are point to point drives, some days are excursion day return drives and some are classic guided sightseeing.

The charm of the tour is that it traverses through the recently opened Lachung and Yamthang valleys, and to the Lachen valley visiting the Gurudongmar Lake situated on the high Tibetan Plateau closed to the Indo Tibet boarder.

The Safari takes you to petit villages deep inside the otherwise once inaccessible by wheels , past raging rivers, stop to admire breathtaking water falls, blooming rhododendron forests and play on snowfields at the bottom of snow capped Himalayan peaks.

Day By Day Itinerary

Day 01: Delhi: Depart home for New Delhi. Met by representative and transfer to hotel. 

Day 02: Delhi-Baghdogra -Pelling. Morning after breakfast transfer to Domestic airport and fly Delhi-Baghdogra. On arrival met by local representative and transfer to Pelling (2085 mtrs). Dinner and overnight in Hotel.
 
Day 03: Pelling-Ravanagla. Morning after breakfast, visit Pemayangtse Monastery. Drive to Holy Lake at Khecheodpalri and continue to Ravanagla (1950 mtrs). Enroute visit Tashiding  Monastery. Dinner and overnight Ravanagla Village Resort.

Day 04: Ravanagla-Gangtok. Morning after breakfast drive Ravanagla to Gangtok via Timi Tea Garden Gangtok (1600 mtrs.). Dinner and overnight in Hotel in Gangtok.

Day 05: Gangtok. After breakfast proceed for sight seeing of the Rumtek Monastery, Botanical Garden, Chorten Stupa, Institute of Tibetology, Cottage Industry, Flower Show, Nam Nang View Point. Back to the Hotel in the Evening and spend time for shopping and curio hunting. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
 
Day 06: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake. Morning after breakfast proceed to a day excursion to  Tsomgo Lake (3650 m) near the Indo Tibet border. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 07: Gangtok-Lachung. Morning after breakfast drive  from Gangtok to Lachung (2700 Mtrs.).En route sight seeing of Kabi, Phodang Monastery, lunch served at Phodang, Mangan, Singik, Chungthang, Maltim. Dinner and overnight Lodge in Lachung.

Day 08: Lachung-Yumthang-Lachen. Morning after breakfast drive  to Yumthang Valley (3600 mtrs.). Post lunch continue  drive to Lachen. Dinner and overnight in Lodge in Lachen.
 
Day 09: Excursion to Gurudongmar Lake. Morning after breakfast we proceed with packed lunch for an excursion to the  holy Gurudongmar Lake (5000 mtrs.) near the Indo-Tibet border. Dinner and overnight Lodge in Lachen.
 
Day 10: Lachung-Gangtok: Drive from Lachung to Gangtok. Evening leisure at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Gangtok.
 
Day 11: Gangtok-Baghdogra-Delhi. As per the flight schedule transfer to Baghdogra airport to Fly Baghdogra-Delhi. If time permits, do some shopping in Gangtok or visit handicraft center etc. Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel. Overnight hotel at Delhi.
 
Day 12: Delhi Home. Transfer to International airport to fly home.
